If you enjoy nature and being outside, Na poljani (it means ‘on the plains’) could be just the place you’re looking for. We’d like to invite you to share an environment in which we’ve tried to preserve country styles and traditions, where you’ll find a homely atmosphere, privacy … and also have the opportunity to buy produce, souvenirs, personal and business gifts..The farmstead is between 5 and 15 minutes from the mediaeval towns of Škofja Loka and Kranj and Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana. The airport of Jože Pučnik – Aerodrom Ljubljana is just 13 km away and we can pick you up when you arrive. A local bus stops nearby and it’s easy for you to rent a car, a bike or a boat.The local area offer many possibilities: cultural events, museums, trekking, hiking, skiing, watching wild life, fishing, swimming, biking, mountaineering…We're only half an hour’s drive from Bled, Jezersko, Visoko, Škofja Loka and the ski slopes at Stari vrh and Krvavec. You can even get to popular tourist destinations such as Bohinj, Logarska dolina or Piran on the Slovenian coast in about an hour and half.
The farmstead provides a camping area for both mobile homes and tents, one single room and two triple rooms that are all equipped with restored furniture, internet access and a bathroom. In the triple rooms we have one bed for two persons and two beds for one person. For your breakfast you will be offered home-produced food from our farm and other goodies from the neighbouring farms. It is an excellent locality for relaxation, a starting point for trips around Slovenia and for discovering its attractions.

There’s always work going on around the farmstead, in the workshop and especially in our vegetable garden. We enjoy working here and encourage our children to help us so that they develop a positive attitude to work. Instead of sitting in front of the computer, they play and keep themselves busy in a lively, imaginative, traditional and family-oriented atmosphere. They enjoy building walls when we’re hay-making, finding hidden treasure when we’re clearing stones, learning to count by catching beetles… Our children have their own garden plot and love creating a mud bath when they water it. And they have their own bench in daddy’s workshop.
In our carpentry workshop we make items in wood that are a modern interpretation of our Slovenian cultural heritage, with an emphasis on Slovenian ethnological traditions. Why not decorate your home with one of our unique products: a picture or a piece of lace in an original frame, for example. They all suit any home, even in a modern, minimalist room. Let their originality enhance your home.
Produce straight from the garden! Our garden provides fruit and vegetables such as strawberries, tomatoes, beans, peppers, potatoes, turnips; flowers, herbs for tea and other herbs that we dry in our airy attic or when we bake bread. In addition to our home-produced vegetables, juices and jams, we also offer products from other local farmsteads. From the garden to the plate We believe in working with nature, not against it. Evidence of the harmful effects of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and preservatives on human health has encouraged us to produce food that is, delicious, nutritious and satisfying. Slovenia – the entire country is characterised by rivers, forests, diverse landscapes. It’s one great organic garden. If we rely on farmers who simply grow single crops to capture a larger market share, we’ll ruin nature’s natural equilibrium and the quality of our food will decline. We believe in guiding nature gently and allowing it to act in its own ways, in all its diversity. |
